Christmas Day

Christmas morning came quick after a semi-late night on Christmas Eve. Thankfully, Santa didn't bring any "big" toys that needed to be put together to our house. Our little family woke up early Christmas morning so Sidney Kate could check out her goodies from Santa and then unwrap a few from mama and daddy.
Checking out all of her goodies from Santa.
She had a few things to unwrap from Bailey and me...mostly essentials--some clothes, socks, a new bowl and plate. Then we loaded up and went to Nonnie and G-daddy's. Sidney Kate got a kitchen! Then we chowed down on some cinnamon twists (a Christmas tradition at the Hunt house).
After playing with her kitchen for a little bit, we crossed the neighborhood to Grandmother and Granddaddy's for Christmas-time with them. Sidney's favorite gift there?? A Mickey Mouse plate with a spoon and fork.
We enjoyed our time with them and then ran home to clean up a little bit before going over to MaMaw's for Christmas lunch. Sidney Kate had fun playing with her cousins' toys even though they weren't there.
After enjoying another wonderful meal, we headed back home to rest and to get ready to leave for Grandma and Papa Dean's the next day.

Bailey Family Christmas

During the Christmas holidays, the Bailey family always gets together. It has been difficult for us ALL to be there each year since most of the cousins are now married. This year we were ALL there and it was actually on Christmas Eve (which is how this gathering began). We all went to the Christmas Eve service and then went back to MaMaw's for dinner, pictures, and presents...and fun.
It has become much more fun and entertaining now that there are little ones. Nola-Grace is about 28 months here, Sidney Kate about 20 months, and Bryleigh about 16 months. Uncle Mickey has invested in some smaller furniture which helped keep the girls busy.
For Christmas Eve dinner we had fried quail and anything you can imagine to go with it. It was delicious but we all agreed it was too hard on MaMaw and her assistants to cook and too long for the little ones to wait.

Fall Photos

As the fall rolled in and Christmas was quickly approaching, I was thinking of trying to get some family photos made but wasn't sure how/when/who, etc. Before the thought moved on to anything more, Katie (of Katie Kubler Photography) shared through her blog and Facebook that she would be teaming up with a friend of hers to take pictures and make Christmas cards (2 for 1, score!) as a fundraiser for their adoption and for her friend (Lizzie) to come home for Christmas (they're missionaries overseas). Perfect timing. I talked it over with Bailey and he quickly agreed that we should do it. Katie got some fantastic photos. Sidney Kate could not have been more perfect for pictures that afternoon.
