15 Months

Weight: 22ish

Clothing: 12-18 months. Some of her 12 month things are starting to get too small. Definitely need at least an 18 month top so it's long enough to cover her belly :) Her foot has fiiiiinally grown. We had to go shoe shopping last week because her poor toes were hanging off her sandals. She now wears a size 2 (mostly). She still doesn't wear them a whole lot but we're starting to wear them more now that we have a couple pairs that fit and since we're on the way to walking. 

Diapers: Size 4

Food/Drink: She eats nearly anything/everything!! The only exception being last week when Sidney and I ate lunch with my mom at Penny's. Sidney didn't seem to care for the chicken salad, pimento and cheese, or pasta salad. She still thinks she needs to be eating any time she sees someone else eating. She drinks milk with her meals and then water in-between. Occasionally she'll get a sip of someone's drink (tea, coke, etc.)

Hair/Eyes: Beautiful brown eyes. There have been a couple times when Sidney has worn green or she's next to a lot of green and her eyes have looked the slightest bit green. Her hair is light, light brown. It's definitely growing (slowly!) It's hard to tell if it will be curly. There are certainly days where it looks like it will be but other days not at all. 

Teeth: She has nine that have come through (the latest two as of last week). She has the front eight in and one kind of randomly on the side (it seems) that just popped through pretty quickly. If her adult teeth grow in anything like these baby teeth are looking, she's already destined for braces. 

Sleep: Sidney is the best sleeper. Bedtime is usually 7:30-8 (later on the weekends). Then she sleeps until anywhere between 7 and 8:30, depending on the day. (However, this will change tomorrow since school is starting!)

Walking: Not yet! She is sooooo close. She stands and squats like a champ but just doesn't want to move by herself yet. As of this last week, she has taken a few steps by herself while not realizing it. It will happen veeery soon. 

Fun Stuff:

-Sidney talks all. the. time.

-"Real" words include: mama, dada (all day long), bye bye, woof woof (sometimes), uh oh, oh (kind of like uh oh), no no (sounds like na, na but getting closer to no), every now and then she'll make a "quack" sound when we talk about her ducks, and she makes the cutest "tickletickletickle"

-She likes to stick her tongue out and make noises with her mouth

-In the last few weeks she has discovered magnets. And not just the magnets on our refrigerator but on every refrigerator at any house she goes to (seriously!!)

-She will walk all over the house with her walker and can now turn it by herself

-Sidney will give "sugar" and a "high 5" when she feels like it. 

-She has learned how to "back down" off the couch.

-Sidney is paying more attention to TV if I turn it to Sprout or some cartoons.

-She loves to clap her hands (especially during game shows or when she hears/sees others clapping).

-She still loves to look at books.

-She got her first puzzle and likes to take the pieces out. She occasionally attempts to put them back, but not typically. 

-She sometimes feels her head like she's checking to see if she has a bow in. If she's taken it out, she may reach up on her head like she's trying to put it back in. 

-Sidney has discovered that she can open the cabinet doors. She has not (yet) tried to pull stuff out but does enjoy opening and closing the doors.

-A lot of times when she hears music she likes, she'll start bouncing/dancing.

-Her new favorite thing to do at Nonnie and G-daddy's is to go down the slide. Then she likes to sit at the bottom or try to climb back up it. In fact, just tonight, we were over there, G-daddy said "slide" and she turned the corner to look out the window at it.

-She has started pitching little "fits." If I tell her no, she often swats her hand at me; then I have to smack her hand which results in the fakest fussing you have ever seen (and often it takes me multiple times to get a response). However, if daddy gets on to her, it takes once and she is truly heartbroken when it happens. 

A Day in Our Life: Summertime

Here's what a summer's day at home looks like for Sidney and me. I wake up 6ish. (Remember Bailey's already up and at the gym--they start at 5). When Bailey gets home, I go for a run (some days, not everyday). We get Sidney up anywhere between 7 and 8, depending on what the day holds. Then Bailey heads to work. We eat breakfast (Sidney usually has cereal/oatmeal with fruit), I have a devotional time, and then it's playtime! 

We try to head outside and play while we can before the day heats up. 

Or she may sit in the high chair a little while longer while she "draws."

Here she is playing with two of her absolute most favorite toys--an Easter egg and a little barrel from a set of nesting barrels. (And take notice of that little bow that is IN her hair. She has just enough for us to clip some smaller bows in.)

Sidney goes down for a nap mid-morning and will usually sleep 1 1/2-2 hours. I try to get housework/crafts/shower/whatever else done during nap time. Sometimes it may include a nap for me too :)

Then comes lunchtime and most days, thankfully, Bailey joins us. A majority of days, Sidney eats a sandwich with fruit and/or veggies. On this particular day she chose to finally pick it up herself and take a bite. Such a big girl!

Then comes more playtime. You may notice several pictures without clothes. If we don't have anywhere to go, I just assume leave her in her diaper. Why waste an outfit and add to the laundry pile??

And of course, there's some teething mixed in the bunch. We're up to nine teeth. Sidney will take a second nap in the afternoon, again typically lasting 1 1/2-2 hours. Much like earlier in the day, I tackle whatever's on my to-do list while she naps.

Then we're back up and ready to go again. Sidney will either watch TV or play in the kitchen with me while I get things ready for dinner. (On those rare evenings this summer when I have actually cooked).

Bailey usually makes it home around 5. We will eat dinner not too long after that and then have some family time just going whatever--playing, reading books, watching TV.  If Sidney happens to need a bath, she gets one right before we get her ready for bed. We'll "brush" her teeth, then read her a Bible story before putting her to bed. Sidney's bedtime has been pretty lax this summer but usually she's in bed by 8. 

The only variation to our "home" days are the days when I go to the gym to workout at 8. On those days (when Sidney is not going to BB's), she goes with her daddy to work and has a ball!

Sunglasses

Sidney has several pairs of sunglasses but is NEVER interested in keeping them on longer than a split second. She got a pair of camo sunglasses from Ford's birthday party a little while back. She always enjoys playing with them, but again, never likes to wear them. Well, something changed one day this past week and she wore them all afternoon. (But has not wanted to wear them again since). 

July 4th

Our Fourth of July was pretty low key. The only plans we had made were to go over to my parents to eat a late lunch. It ended up being only Bailey, Sidney, and I with my parents because my siblings made some "last minute" plans. However, we enjoyed some yummy food! We had given my dad a Captain Rodney's spice rub as part of his Father's Day gift and he used it on some pork chops. Soooo, so good. 

Originally, we had no other plans after that. However, Bedford (and friends) made some for us. We ended up going to a family friend's for dinner and some fireworks. Sidney was not so interested in dinner (for once in her life) but much more into playing with new toys and entertaining everyone. 

Sidney got to play with John Wesley some that night. Here he is "being a gentleman" by kissing her hand. How stinkin' sweet is that?!

Bedford and Billy shot some fireworks for all of us to watch. Sidney enjoyed watching all the bright lights and didn't seem too bothered by the noise. 

The Saturday following the 4th, we went to Kerry and Brad's in Batesville to celebrate Rachel's birthday. It was a fun change to have everyone and their kids together, instead of just the adults going to dinner alone (or just the girls going to dinner with or without a child or two).

Gender Reveal/50th Wedding Anniversary

We had another busy, BUSY weekend. Friday night we headed up to Collierville for Scottie and Daniel's gender reveal. They are having a sweet little girl, Alli Kate!! (I was right in my prediction). 

Then we got up Saturday morning and headed to Arkansas for Grandma and Papa Dean's 50th Wedding Anniversary party which was on Sunday afternoon. As usual on our trip over, we made a stop in Conway (my grad-school stomping grounds) for lunch at our favorite Mexican place). We rested and visited Saturday night and then got up Sunday to help prepare for the party that afternoon. We all helped "serve" in some shape, form, or fashion. I volunteered to be the photographer take pictures. 

Somebody needed to catch a few Zzzz's before the party started.

This is the dress Grandma wore on their wedding day plus some pictures of she, Papa Dean, and Mr. Jeff from their day. The table has some anniversary pictures along with the sweater she wore on their first date.

It was a great, short (but long) trip. Four and a half-hourish (each way) trips don't need to be made in two days. I must share that we had another diaper blowout on this trip. And it was MUCH worse. We started smelling something as we were stuck in construction traffic on the interstate, but didn't think much of it since we had been at a stand-still with the windows down and such. We had decided to stop for dinner at McDonald's (about the only place there is between Little Rock and Memphis). Right before we pulled off the interstate, I looked back and picked SK's leg up--let's just say it was a mess. Thankfully, we had loads of wipes and got her, along with the seat (yes, it made it onto her seat this time) cleaned up. Somehow or another, her outfit was perfectly clean. To make matters worse (in my book, anyways), we get inside, order, pay, and then learn that they are out of Coke! Fountain Cokes from McDonald's are about as good as they get and I had really had my mind set on one, especially after suffering through SK's diaper.
