Pensacola Beach 2013

The Lunceford clan started planning early to make a repeat trip back to Pensacola Beach this summer. (We missed out last year but made sure we could go this year). We rented the same house they had last year that is practically on the beach. I think it took me most of the week before to get things ready and to pack. We finished loading up fairly early Saturday and got on the road.
Our home for the week.
We got there late afternoon/early evening. We actually arrived first so we picked up the key and then unloaded our car while we waited. We grabbed a quick bite to eat that night, made a quick run to Walmart, and then relaxed for a little bit before getting some sleep so we could get to the beach early the next morning.

That Sunday was Father's Day. We had already "celebrated" at home and with Bailey's dad but we were able to celebrate it with my dad that day. We spent the first part of our mornings everyday on the balcony.
Her first time at the beach. We didn't take her in the water until a little later in the week but she enjoyed sitting in the sand. The water was BEAUTIFUL! And there were not many people around so we were able to take up as much space as we wanted and really enjoy ourselves.
Monday morning Sidney was pretty tired and only lasted a few minutes on the beach before she needed a nap. However, that afternoon she was ready to play. Bailey carried her out in the water and she loved it! She didn't mind the waves or splashing at all.
Tuesday morning we drove over to the Quietwater/"Mom" beach. (It's the inland/bay area so it is calm and fairly shallow). Sidney just floated around.
That night we attempted some family pictures......
All throughout the week Sidney provided great entertainment. That particular night we had eaten some homemade peach ice cream and it wired Sidney! She was bouncing around in everyone's lap chit-chatting as much as she possibly could.
Just another day on the beach.
Her crazy hair! I can't wait until she gets some more hair to see what it's going to do. Between the sunscreen on her head and the humidity, her hair was wild.
Loving some more time in the water. It was fairly calm this day so Sidney spent nearly an hour in the water. We loved that float. It had a little mesh area where we could lay shells and such so she could play with them.
Another attempt at family photos for the Hunt family=success!
These last two pictures are horrible but I was trying to be inconspicuous. Every morning this lady would come by. She walked the first lap with the dalmation and a little dog. Then she jogged a second lap with only the dalmation.
It was a GREAT week. Truly a vacation because we did little to nothing (except play on the beach and EAT).

The Past Week

This past week has been a little wild as I've been trying to keep the house straight and get everything ready to pack for our week-long trip to the beach!

Our church has been having one service on Sundays during the summer and we are really enjoying the later start time. I snapped a couple pictures of Sidney before we left for church on Sunday.
Sidney LOVES looking at books. My friend Courtney got her a subscription to Hello Highlights magazine for her birthday. Sidney looooves flipping through the pages and looking at the pictures.
I had to snap (and share) this picture. This is the only way Sidney will sit in her highchair--with feet stuck on the edge of the table.
And just because she's so stinking cute.....

Several Firsts

We've had a few more firsts around here. This past week I gave Sidney her first popsicle. I tried to document it but it was a bit tough holding the popsicle in one hand and the camera in the other. (SK's not up to holding her own "big" food things, just little things).
The next day, she discovered the recycle box for the first time and had the best time pulling all the papers/boxes from it and scattering it around.
A little later that morning Sidney and I, along with my mom, took her first trip to her great-grandmother's house in Brookhaven. While there, we did a little shopping and a lot of relaxing. Funny story (funnier now than it it was at the time): we were getting close to our stop in Jackson when I realized Sidney had a dirty diaper. Not just any dirty diaper but a leaking dirty diaper. Well, naturally, this is the first time EVER that I didn't have a spare pair of shorts/skirt/outfit for Sidney. Luckily, our destination was next to Target. And, thankfully, it only got on her clothes and not the carseat. So, after changing her in the car, we headed inside (SK bottomless) to find some new shorts.
After we got home, Bailey and I decided to go ahead and get Sidney's new carseat so we could try it out a few times before we headed to the beach. I'd say she loves it!
That evening we took Sidney swimming for the first time. As we expected, she absolutely loved it! She had a blast floating around and splashing in the pool.
She played so hard and was out cold by the time we got home.
