Summer

Summer is off to a wonderful start. I am loving this extra time with my beautiful girl. I have a list (that is neverending) of things that I'm trying to accomplish in my time off. I know it will not be completed at summer's end but I hope to get as much done as I possibly can. That being said, Sidney will probably go to BB's a day or two during the week so I can be as productive as possible (and so she can play with all the kiddos there).

I will be working out and/or running as much as I can over the summer, and hopefully, in the morning (so I don't die in the afternoon heat). If it's a day that I don't plan to take Sidney to BB's, then Sidney will go spend an hour or so with Bailey at the office.

The other day I took Sidney on a jog and we sat outside to play for a little while afterwards.
Sidney has really started noticing Lula. She loves to go up to her while Lula is laying in the chair and kind of "bat" at her. Lula typically doesn't mind and just lets Sidney play.
Her favorite game is still, "Where's Sidney?" She will now cover both eyes with her hands and then "reveal" herself.

Bath/Randoms

Sidney LOOOOOVES bathtime. I think she would sit and play in there as long as we let her.
On Saturday we went to A'fair. We mostly went just to walk around and look but I did buy Sidney a few bows/flowers. You can never, ever had too many of those. After that, SK enjoyed some Daddy time since he had been gone all week.

Random/Mother's Day

Sidney and I have been trying to enjoy the lovely weather when we can. She loves riding around in her cozy coupe and watching to see what's going on around her.
Spending another afternoon playing in the grass. Don't let the second picture fool you. She really doesn't like to crawl in the grass.
The Saturday evening of Mother's Day weekend Bailey and I finished our season at the Orpheum with Rock of Ages. It was lots of fun. Before the show we went to Bangkok Alley for some sushi. It was soooo good! Mother's Day was spent mostly relaxing with my sweet girl. Bailey had to leave after lunch to head to Louisville for a class.

Birthday Pictures

I had all intentions of getting some pictures of Sidney in her birthday outfit before the big day. But since I had such a lovely experience and her outfit came in the day before, that obviously did not happen. I finally had a chance to get a few this weekend. Of course she would not tolerate the birthday hat but did not mind the feathery-poof.

This Season of Life

We are thoroughly enjoying this "season" of our life. Our last few weekends have been full of various celebrations. Two weekends ago we celebrated a cousin's engagement, a friend's son's birthday, and I went to a baby shower for a friend. (None of which I have pictures for). Last weekend Bedford and Katie got engaged and we celebrated our sweet girl's birthday. This weekend we went to two birthday parties.

We started our morning at Ford's 4th birthday party at the church. We were supposed to wear camo, but since SK doesn't have any, she wore some animal print. Sidney had a great time watching all the other kids play.

Playing with some of the big kids.
Then we enjoyed playing with some of her friends from BB's.
This might be Sidney's "best" friend (or boyfriend) from BB's. Gaines loves to crawl around and play with Sidney. And she doesn't seem to mind Gaines getting in her face!
Then we tried out the slide. It was not easy climbing up that thing with a baby in tow.
Then Meg and Gaines took a turn. Gaines loved it and got a little upset when they couldn't do it anymore.
We went home, ate lunch, and played a little before getting a good nap.
(You think we're kidding when we say she likes her socks...)
After we all got a good nap (yes, all 3 of us), we got ready for Gaines' 2nd birthday party.
Sidney loved her ice cream cone.
Kate entertained Sidney for a little while; she even took her on a wagon ride.
Sidney enjoyed playing with her other boyfriend, John Brantley.
Also, we haven't had a formal "celebration" but Bailey has passed both of his exams and is now a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He has worked extra hard and SK and I are super proud of him! (Now he will work towards obtaining his MAI designation which is about a 4 year process).

Have I mentioned that summer is around the corner?? AND it includes a week-long trip to the beach?! Life can't get much sweeter. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
