Nine Months

Weight: 17 lb. 12 oz (as of 1/21 at the doctor)
Height: Around 26 maybe (need to measure her again)
Clothing: mostly 9 months; we still wear some 6 month things
Diapers: We went ahead and moved up to size 4
Feeding: Sidney nurses (or gets a bottle) 4 times a day. She is now eating food 3 times a day. Typically she has cereal/oatmeal and some fruit in the morning, a veggie and some fruit at lunch, and dinner varies depending on what Bailey and I are eating.
Hair/Eyes: Light brown hair; fuzzier some days than others. Beautiful dark brown eyes.
Teeth: Sidney's first tooth (bottom left) broke through on the 19th
Sleep: Sidney is a great sleeper. Her last feeding is around 7:15/7:30 and she sleeps until 6 during the week (when I get her up). So far, she seems to understand the concept of sleeping in on Saturdays. We'll typically get up between 7:30 and 8:30 depending on what the day holds.
Fun Stuff:
-Sidney loves playing peek-a-boo
-She searches for anything she drops
-She will wave back to you
-Sidney loves her monkey-in-the-box. She gets sooo excited when the music starts and even more excited when it pops open. She starts flailing her arms like crazy!
-She will eat almost anything. She loves spaghetti! And she loves trying to chew on pizza crust.
-She enjoys feeding herself puffs, Cheerios, yogurt bites, or other little finger foods.
-Sidney is crawling! She will "rock" on her knees and then army crawl whereever she wants to go. Her favorite thing to go after is a cell phone.
-She looooves pulling her socks off and playing with them.
-She is the absolute happiest baby. Despite having the flu last week, she seemed ok most of the time. Just had times throughout the day when she felt bad.
-She likes reaching for Lula and trying to swat pet her.
-It is looking like Sidney might be a lefty. She seems to favor her left hand when feeding herself and waving. (Also, she sucks the first two fingers on her left hand instead of her thumb or a pacifier).

Sick Baby Girl

On New Year's Eve (while spending the evening at home with Bailey's family) we noticed Sidney wasn't quite acting like herself. She started running fever the next day and I'd noticed she had been tugging at her ears some. So, the next day we went to the doctor. And, of course, double ear infection. We started an antibiotic and got to feeling better pretty quickly.

Shortly after she finished her antibiotic, she ran a low-grade fever here and there. She was finally starting to get her first tooth so I didn't think much of it. We spent most of the weekend with Bailey's family as everyone was in town. Saturday night when we got home, Sidney was running a fever of 102.3. She didn't have fever Sunday morning but that night it was 103.4. I assumed it was her ears again because she'd been tugging at them some more. Thankfully Monday was a holiday.
The doctor checked her ears and there was still some pressure but he said he wanted to check her for the flu, just in case (even though she'd had a flu shot). Positive, type A. Since we caught it early enough they gave her TamiFlu to help with some of the symptoms. Olivia kept Sidney for us Tuesday. Well, Bailey ended up going to the doctor and tested positive for the flu as well. I stayed home with them on Wednesday to make sure everyone got plenty of rest. Thankfully they both recovered fairly quickly and I did not get it!
