We had made plans to leave for Bailey's grandparents in Arkansas the day after Christmas. Well, several days before Christmas the weather forecast was predicting snow--a decent bit for them and a touch for us. We weren't quite sure if we should go or not but decided we would--we would just leave a little later than planned.
Our normally 4ish hour trip took about 7 hours. We had to really take our time getting through West Memphis. It was mostly uneventful until we got to the otherside of Brinkley where we got stuck in stop-and-go traffic--the interstate was down to one lane for a little while due to some construction and it seems we were stuck behind a snow-plow as well. (However, we are very thankful we weren't headed east-bound that day as there was a huge wreck and cars were in stand-still traffic for about 7-8 miles. People had been there so long they were building snowmen! We counted about 10 of them.) Little Rock seemed to have gotten the most of the winter weather but we passed on through and finally made it to Dardanelle (after a few failed attempts at getting something to eat).
We had Christmas with Grandma and Papa Dean that night. Sidney got some adorable sock-monkey outfits; Grandma made a little sock-monkey purse to match them! Grandma also refinished an adorable pink rocking chair that is just her size and has her monogram on it. Grandma isn't quite finished refinishing it but we can't wait until it's here.
On Thursday we enjoyed visiting some more with Grandma and Papa Dean and did some after-Christmas shopping. Then we headed home Friday with a stop in Conway to do a little more shopping. So thankful our trip home did not take us 7 hours!
