Halloween

Back in August, or early September, a co-worker of mine brought me a catalog full of Halloween costumes. (She now has a teenage daughter but continues to get the catalogs and shares them with me). I flipped through and marked a few pages but was pretty dead-set on one--a strawberry. I ordered it not long after to be sure they wouldn't sell out of it.
On Halloween, I picked up Sidney from BB's and then went to Bailey's office so they could see her in her costume. We visited a few minutes and then went to Mamaw's so she could see her dressed up too. Then we ran home to feed Sidney before heading back out.
We went over to my friend Courtney's for a little Halloween party. Sidney was passed around and loved on while we visited and enjoyed some yummy snacks. To finish the evening, we went to Trick-or-Trunk at church to visit and let everyone see Sidney dressed up. Sidney was so good and thoroughly enjoyed being social all-evening long.
A few weeks ago, we got together with some friends in Collierville for a Halloween/costume party. I didn't really want to just buy a costume so I looked to Google for some help. Here's what we came up with....

Baby Dedication

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6
"Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4
"He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him." Proverbs 13:24
"Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death." Proverbs 19:18
"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity." Colossians 4:5
On the 21st, we had baby dedication at church. It was a very special day for our little family. Bailey and I, along with 4 other couples, dedicated our babies to the Lord. It was a very sweet service and all of the babies behaved perfectly.

After church, we went to eat with Bailey's family. Sidney was getting rather sleepy at this point (as she did not nap any while she was in the nursery) but we still had to try to get a few pictures taken since we had not taken any to document the day. We decided to run back over to the church to try to get a few pictures. (I was determined to get a few pictures of the three of us, even if Sidney was not going to be happy in them). Baby girl was snoozing when we got her out of the car but tolerated a few pictures.

Six Months

Weight: Around 14 pounds (we go in about 2 weeks for our 6 month check-up)
Height: Around 25 inches
Clothing: Pretty much 6 month stuff, a few 6-9/9 month things
Diapers: Size 2 (in Pampers and Luvs); we've moved to size 3 at night
Feeding: Still eating 5 times a day now. We nurse for 3 of those and have pumped milk out of a bottle for the other two (typically at BB's). Sidney typically takes about 8 oz from the bottle. We eat about 2 tablespoons of cereal/oatmeal and a couple of tablespoons of fruits or veggies twice a day. So far she's had: carrots, pears, squash, peaches, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, avocado. The only thing she hasn't liked was avocado and she pretty much refused it after a bite or two.
Hair/Eyes: Hair and eyes are pretty much the same. Her hair is brown, getting lighter and I think it's getting fuzzier. Her eyes are still dark brownish/grey.
Sleep: Sidney is a great sleeper. Her last feeding is around 7:15/7:30 and she sleeps until 6 during the week. I try to let her sleep a little later on Saturdays. She'll typically sleep until 7 or 7:30 on those mornings. She doesn't always love to nap on the weekends because she would rather be social and hangout with Mom, Dad, and whoever else is around.
Fun Stuff:
-Sidney still loves bathtime. She can be fussy, then she gets in the bathtub and she's perfectly content.
-She is sitting up!
-She is such a happy baby. She has just started making this high-pitched squeal that makes me laugh nearly every time I hear it.
-Sidney continues to enjoy talking
-She's watching Lula more and more
-She loves to eat! Sometimes if I don't give her another bite fast enough, she gets a little huffy.
-Sidney still likes to play with her feet and occasionally they make it to her mouth
-She still absolutely loves to bounce in the Johnny Jumper seat and she also loves to play in her exersaucer
-On the 21st we had baby dedication (post to follow soon, I hope).
-Sidney and I survived a week with Bailey out of town. This was our second week of flying solo but the first time to do it while I was working. We successfully made it to BB's each morning and I made it to work a little earlier than normal each day.
-She is such a HAM! She LOVES to be the center of attention. I went to pick her up from BB's one day and BB told me that she had Sidney in the kitchen, in her carseat, waiting for me to get there. SK started fussing so BB brought her in the living room with the other kids and that was all she needed, to be little Miss Social.

Once again, I did the monthly photo session by myself. And, once again, SK was not interested in me or the camera at all. She was WAY much more interested in her sock monkey....

Five Months

Weight: About 14 pounds

Height: About 25 inches
Clothing: Size: 3-6 month and 6 month stuff

Diapers: Size 2 (in Pampers...the Huggies size 2 are too small)
Feeding: Still eating 5 times a day now. We nurse for 3 of those and have pumped milk out of a bottle for the other two (typically at BB's). Sidney typically takes about 7 oz from the bottle. Also, just after our doctor appointment on the 10th, we started food along with her cereal. She LOVES it! So far she's had: carrots, pears, squash, peaches, peas, sweet potatoes, and bananas
Hair/Eyes: Still no changes in Sidney's hair or eyes. Her hair is still brown, with more in the back. Her eyes are still dark grey/brown.

Sleep: Sidney is a great sleeper. Her last feeding is around 7:30/7:45 and she sleeps until 6. Every now and then she wakes up a little earlier than that but is usually content to sit with me while I'm getting ready, until 6 when I feed her.
Fun Stuff:
-Sidney loves bathtime
-She is rolling over ALL the time
-She continues to be a very happy baby
-Sidney is babbling
-She's still taking notice of Lula
-She loves going to BB's
-She loves to eat!
-Sidney still likes to play with her feet and occasionally they make it to her mouth
-We've gotten a few good belly laughs and snorts out of her. It's hilarious!
-Sidney loves to bounce in the Johnny Jumper seat and she also loves to play in her exersaucer
-On Labor Day weekend, I spent my first night away from SK
-She went to work with her daddy two days while BB was out of town. They visited me at school and brought me lunch one of the days.
-Sidney spent her first night away from home this past weekend while we went to the Ole Miss-Alabama game

Typically, Bailey and I tackle the monthly "photo session" together. This time did it myself. However, SK was not interested in me or the camera at all. She was WAY more interested in her sock monkey and her feet......
