Two Weeks

This week we took Sidney to her first pediatrician's appointment. She still weighed 8 lb. 10 oz. and was 20 1/4 in. long. The doctor's appointment went well and we won't go back until the middle of June for her two month appointment.
Before the doctor's appointment, Sidney had her first shopping experience. We stopped by Kinnucan's to pick up Nonnie's Mother's Day gift. Sidney slept the entire time.

Other happenings this week: Bailey, Sidney, and I went to dinner at El Charro with Bedford and Katie. Again, she slept the whole time. A little later in the week, Bailey and I took Sidney to Southaven. We went to eat at McAlister's and then went to Target. Sidney was awake for a few minutes while we were at McAlister's but then went right to sleep and slept the rest of the time we were out. Bailey gave Sidney her first bottle this week. She took to it pretty easily and has been taking a bottle a day since then.
On Wednesday, we met with Uncle Mickey to have some newborn photos taken. Sidney did not go to sleep as she was supposed to so they didn't go as well as we planned. However, she did doze off here and there and we were able to get a few good pictures.

Grandma and Papa Dean (Sidney's great-grandparents) came from Arkansas to meet Sidney and visit for a little while. That evening they took the whole family to eat at El Charro. Once again, Sidney slept the whole time we were there.

Sidney's umbilical cord fell off later in the week and we were able to give her her first real bath.
Sidney continues to change every day. She has started making many different facial expressions and is becoming more alert. She continues to sleep pretty well. She has a few fussy times here and there, but, overall, has been a good baby, so far. Also, we have started wearing "one" diapers. They are a little big, but we used all the newborn diapers we had and decided to go on and move up to the ones.

Later in the week, I finally felt up to getting out by myself. Again, only a quick run to WalMart, but it still felt good to get out by myself.
